"If your partner isn't your biggest fan, you're with the wrong person"
I'm starting this blog with that famous saying since it was birthed because of my biggest fan. My husband had been nudging me to get my paper and pen (Oh! That's so obsolete!😅), I mean my laptop and dig what I've learned in my Creative Writing 101 in college as a Journalism graduate.

"You are good at it!", "
You always have the right words to say" and "I'm excited to have a blogger wife!"--
Phrases he'd said countless times that I brushed off as hard as I could. Until I could shrug it no more so here I am, snuggling under our comforter as it's snowing outside, staring at my laptop, wondering where the clacking of my keyboard would go.
The next question after answering the "why" behind this blog is "what?" What would make every click worth it?
Henry David said, "How vain is it to sit down to write when you have not stood up to live."
This made me ask myself "have I stood up to live a life with meaning?" or am I merely existing? But wait, how do we gauge if we are really living rather than just existing? Couldn't think of a better analogy than the story of the boy and the starfish. (adapted from The Star Thrower by Loren Eiseley)
One day a man was walking along the beach, when he noticed a boy hurriedly picking up and gently throwing things into the ocean. Approaching the boy, he asked, “Young man, what are you doing?” The boy replied, “Throwing starfish back into the ocean. The surf is up and the tide is going out. If I don’t throw them back, they’ll die.” The man laughed to himself and said, “Don’t you realize there are miles and miles of beach and hundreds of starfish? You can’t make any difference!

” After listening politely, the boy bent down, picked up another starfish, and threw it into the surf. Then, smiling at the man, he said,
“I made a difference to that one.”
One act of kindness.
One crying person pacified on your shoulder.
A genuine heartfelt prayer for a hurting or a sick person.
A tap on the back for a job well done.
One sad soul connected back to the loving hand of our Father.
One starfish back to the ocean.
"Either write something worth reading or do something worth writing"- Benjamin Franklin
It is my desire to continue to strive to do something worth writing so I can have real stories that are worth reading.
HOW ABOUT YOU? Have you brought at least one starfish back to the ocean? Does the way you're living your life now will produce a story worth writing in the future?
It's not yet too late. Maybe you can start by telling someone to start doing something they've always wanted to do and be an encourager, just like my greatest fan who pushed me to debut..
