“Still super thankful na ginawa ka instrument ni Lord para makilala namin Sya”

This spoke volume to me that made me fall at God’s feet as I sang songs of worship upon learning that a friend I was praying for and believing God for healing from stage 3 cervical cancer has just been declared Cancer free. She was healed, not just physically but more importantly, spiritually.

I know how she and her sister struggled during their plight against this life threatening disease. It was drowning and nerve wracking but it became more bearable because they both have personal relationships with the Lord.

I’m wondering how different the situations would have become had they not been reconnected back to God?

Having Jesus in our life makes all the difference.

Our paths crossed in 2014 when we attended the same Japanese language school in Takadanobaba. I was just starting to learn about God’s Words then, I didn’t even know how to pray but deep down in me, I know I want them to also have the same joy I’ve found in Him.

So I reached out. I remember sharing my cookies during our breaks. I have a confession to make. I doubt they knew that even though I was still hungry then and wanting to eat the cookies by myself and I also had the urge to not consume everything so I can have them for the next day because we were struggling financially at that time, I kept telling myself “If these cookies we’d share while chatting would make them know Jesus, I’d willingly share.” And I did.

They both came to know Jesus. Slowly, they were drawn to Him.

I’m not sharing this to boast what I did but to highlight what He did to me. I can’t fathom how God can use a sinful and imperfect person like me to introduce Him to people, much more to teach His Words to them when I only have grasped 10% (or less) of what’s written there. It dawned on me that we shouldn’t wait to master the bible before reaching out, rather, to just allow the bible to change us grace by grace that will cause other people to see it’s real through our radically changed lives.

I believe, once we have fully tasted God’s goodness, it’s impossible to keep our mouth shut and just bury our head in the sand with it. We will find ways how to pass it over.

It may sound frightening but it actually is achievable.

First, Pray. Pray for people who God wants you to share it with. Pray for genuine desire to do it consistently.

Next, Care. Show you care. It may mean, treating someone to Starbucks to cheer him/her up or messaging someone who posted a sad status online. Share your cookies.

Lastly, Share. Share your personal stories of His goodness and share Jesus -the greatest answer to all our questions. It also won’t hurt if you have some bible verses handy like Ephesians 2:8-10, Romans 6:23 and John 3:16.

Intentionally Pray, Care and Share. (This is a tool our Church has been using).

Almost 9 years after, their faith was tested by what people call the Big C (Cancer) and has triumphed because of the Biggest C, Christ.

People are dying from cancer and the most deadly disease, SIN as our society’s morality is decaying and my challenge is, would you dare Pray, Care and Share?

...and also have people thanking you for helping them in finding their way back to the Father. Not for the world’s applause but for His glory.
