We just finished binge watching the last episode of Manifest season 4 and I kinda feel separation anxiety because of the “dopaminergic” emotion it left in my mind. Out of the many series I’ve watched, it could pass as one of my top favorites not just because of its efficacious way to excite its viewers that leaves us eagerly crave to know the ending but ultimately because of the many valuable lessons Jewish writer, Jeff Rake sophisticatedly elicited.
Here are some I’ve got:
1. We all have a “calling” and a choice to either follow it, live it or ignore it.
2. We are stronger together. We’re all connected.
3. There are many things that Science won’t be able to explain even by the smartest scientist there is. There is no doubt that there is a “Divine power” behind every unexplainable phenomena.
4. We need family and friends who can lend us their strength and faith when we need one because we’re not always strong.
5. There will always be consequences to all our actions.
6. Leaders should be very careful because they carry great responsibility among their followers. (Adrian and Angelina had misled the flock)
7. There is always “Hope”. (A very beautiful “Hope” for Jared and Mikami)
8. Parents, no matter how evil their children have been, can still forgive. (How beautiful was Eagan’s parents’ words of forgiveness)
9. We will all be judged according to how we live our life someday. One day.
10. Not everyone will have second chance to get their relationships with loved ones back, don’t waste your precious time with them. Hug them, tell them you love them. (Look at how Mick kissed her mom and how Ben tightly hugged Grace at the airport)
11. It’s never too late to repent,to ask for forgiveness and to make things right. (Eagan’s “last minute” plea for Adrian’s life in exchange of his own and his help in delaying Angelina’s troop have saved him from turning into ashes)
12. I think we’ll all spend our days on what or who really matters if we know that our days are numbered (Death date changed their priorities)
13. Sometimes you got to sacrifice for the greater good. (Vance sacrificed his career to help the 828ers, Zeke sacrificed for Cal, Mick sacrificed his chance with Jared for the baby, Troy sacrificed as a distraction, Ben sacrificed his son and Cal sacrificed himself)
14. Forgiveness lightens the heart.
15. All things work together for good. (Romans 8:28)
A great movie leaves indelible lessons even after it's long finished. Manifest nailed it.
