1095 days with you

Everyday, but most specially today, I am reminded why you are the perfect husband for me and since it's our 3rd year wedding anniversary, I will enumerate 3 reasons why.

1. Because you bring out the best (and the worst) in me.

When we decided to get married, it's with the intention to build a family and to be happy together but with all the flaws and imperfections that we both saw (and will yet to see) in each other, I fully understood that God designed marriage not just to make us happy but ultimately to make us holy.

You have taught me to serve even when I sometimes feel I got nothing left to give because of how appreciative you are of the food I cook and the things I do towards you and others even if they don't get reciprocated at times. You have taught me to expectantly pray while waiting for God to answer my request to change something in you rather than implore you to change right away with all my list of "know hows". You have taught me that it's okay to make mistakes sometimes when you didn't blame me for buying the wrong car charger :) and most importantly, you have been teaching me God's love when you lay aside your emotion to hug me first after an argument (almost all the time!) regardless of who's at fault.

Sanctification for us Christians is the lifetime process of being conformed and transformed in the image of Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit. As our individual selfishness are being exposed inside marriage that we have never known existed in our own lives as singles, we'll learn to love and forgive our spouse just like what Jesus did.

Thank you for being God's instrument to make me more like Him.

2. Because you are my biggest fan who pushes me towards limitless horizon.

You made me go back to writing when you surprised me with my own domain and website even when I didn't think I can start a blog which paved a way for me to reach out people for Jesus through my first love. You also pushed me to start going to the gym although I have rejected to do so countless times in the past thinking I couldn't do it with my tiny bones (wrapped with undesired fats everywhere! LOL). You just wouldn't let me stay the way I am because you believe in me and my potentialities.

Thank you my biggest fan.

3. Because you share my passion in serving our living God.

With the constant demand of ministry and my desire to bring people closer to Jesus which eats up my time daily, without your unwavering understanding and support, I couldn't do what I am doing for Him. Moreover, your humbleness in choosing to not be in the limelight in serving Him through your talents and abilities makes me admire you even more.

Thank you for being my ministry partner.

We still have a very long way to go. We have prayers the Lord has yet to answer (or not answer as He deems fit), we will have more "hopia" and "biscocho" fights and we will see some more of our imperfections during camping, ID nights and many more along the way but with team work, mutual respect and never ending portion of grace and love that we can emulate as we seek God, I just know we can thrive and continue to give God glory in this marriage.

A great marriage does not happen when a perfect couple comes together, (because there isn't any). It happens when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy and embrace their differences and to appreciate each other's effort to meet at a certain point to compromise, coupled with a commitment to be good forgivers for the rest of their lives.

Thank you my Love, for allowing me to have a Home like a mini Church where I constantly experience God's love, forgiveness and grace for the past challenging, yet, fruitful and joyful 1095 days. Happy Anniversary!

Thank you to our very talented friend Warren de Luna for these awesome prenup pictures taken 3 year ago.
